Summary: On August 20, 1931, a falling snag from a burning tree claimed the life of John Moss, 64, who was fighting a fire on Snowbird Creek on the Magee District of the Coeur d A'lene National Forest (now Idaho Panhandle National Forests). He was carried by cot/stretcher toward a hospital in Coeur d A'lene but died half an hour after being struck.
